verano

Summer surf and summer crowds are here now that school is out. Last weekend the surf was still big, and in LA there were over 500 lifeguard rescues on Saturday; can't imagine what the number must have been for the whole Socal coast. We have seen two rescues right here on our beach, and those were just the two we saw. The lifeguards have been super busy, they really work the beach, not just sitting in the tower. Bocce with Func on the high lawn at his place has been enjoyable, Ad patiently waiting, eating, and watching the bright colors roll around as she sits suspended in the bjorn (chest carrier) or on a cloth in the grass. Linda and Jamie have been here, and we have been eating out, driving about, and beaching it up as much as we can. They have been very helpful with the Ad-load ever since they rolled up in their red mustang. Ad has slept long stretches the last 3 nights, but for some reason we are both as tired as ever, maybe a more relaxed tired. Yesterday she fell asleep in Em's arms watching the surf move in and out of the rocks at Abalone Point. Developmentally, Ad is now doing wheelies on her bike and working on differential calculus.
