loop

We have been going on urban hikes for a while now. Not just neighborhood walks but long treks through city. We used to walk a couple hours somewhere to eat or see a show, then take public transpo or a taxi back. Today Tam suggested we circle, really circumnavigate is a better word, Lake Union, 6+ miles of cement city. It took us 5 hours, with a stop for an errand and another to feed the kiddo.

First leg from Gasworks and over the Fremont Drawbridge.

Neat floating neighborhoods... this may be the 'Sleepless in Seattle' row. We would be on the other side of lake in another couple hours, and then going under the I5 bridge that is on the far left horizon.

At the turn near the S end of the lake.

Never noticed this homeless camp/treehouse. It is life-shortening loud under the I5 bridge, the lower deck sound bounces down off the upper deck... bad design sound-wise.

There is a great community garden here, dig the carrot hinges...

and the eggplant latch.

180pano returning on the U-bridge. Click on it for full size foto.

Bridge detail.

People like to throw paint off the side of the bridge onto this big grey building/canvas.

Back home to get cleaned up and enjoy the last of the light.
