yin and yang in socal

There was a red tide running while we were there, lots of sick and dying birds, fish, and mammals. The shelters and animal hospitals were overflowing, the freezers full of dead animals. Fires were burning inland and out on Catalina Island. While surfing Trestles, ashes were drifting down into the water, little black smudges floating down. There was a lot of tar on the beach this trip too. Still, was beautiful down there, warm weather, lots of hummingbirds and other colorful birds flying about.
