3 shows

Taken walking home from work last evening. I was met by mini-vanned Hammers, it was nice to meander down on my walk and run into friends on the street, work was easily left behind. We ate food and watched some movies, was a nice evening.
Some good music coming up:
The first is this Tuesday, Richard Shindell at the Triple Door. He is bright folk music, and he new Argentine band has given him some swing and his best album since his first. I prefer his solo shows, but I would like to see him with this new band; win/win. He puts on a solid show every time. Its dinner theater style, served by Wild Ginger, so we will come early and make sure we are done eating by the time the music starts.
Next is Cornelius (Keigo Oyamada), the mad genius from Japan. He will be playing El Corazon, and will bring his experimental pop noise group. His last show was outstanding, this one should be no less so.
Femi Kuti will be playing the Showbox. Femi is Fela's son, holding the line of politics and music. 'Live at the Shrine' is a dvd documentary of a live show at his 'kingdom' in Lagos. Now there is trip to take, see Femi at the Shrine. This show will be interesting, at the least; likely very powerful. Check out the dvd, the library has it. Dont be a bobo.
We hope we see you at the shows... -e
