sunrise v sunset

Sunsets in Seattle? Not so good. The trick is to catch the sunrises. I think the reason is that the clouds clear east of the Cascades, so there is that gap for the sun to shine under and light up the bottom of the clouds. Here is the sunrise from this morning. If you can make out the horizon line (I know, its pretty dark photo) then that is the Cascades, the notch on the left may be Snoqualmie Pass. Pretty good weather today, 40's, just a little drizzle.
