Mez2 - Zihua
This is Zihuatanejo. At the top of the photo where you can see a golf course is where Ixtapa starts. Zihua is the real mexican port town, Ixtapa is a creation of the National Tourism Development Council, now a series of fancy hotels and condos. Just north of there about 20 minutes is Troncones. If we have the wedding at Troncones, and you need all the amenities like a/c, room service, golf, and the communities trash in trash cans (not just blowing around all willy-nilly), then Ixtapa is your place, just check your soul at the gatehouse. We stayed in Zihua at the white strip of beach on the right side of the photo, by the green strip.
We stayed in a fancy-pants hotel in Zihua, a Travel Leisure style place with discreet staff; meaning you don't always see them, but they always know what you are doing; you go into the bathroom, come out, and there are flowers on your pillow and a robe on your bed. The place was designed by architect Enrique Zozaya. Click on the pic for a larger view.

A snug section of the harbor.
Lots of nice details all around the hotel. We saw lots of beautiful birds while just hanging out at breakfast. We saw fish who live in the filtered green light of these clay pots...
