frippertronics and cat

We walked out our front door, and to the meows of a cat, off we went to see Robert Fripp tonight. He is the King Crimson anchor. It was a very odd show. 30 mins of vaporous solo guitar playing, then 30 mins of questions and commentary on how hard his music is to listen to, then 10 more mins of playing, and that was it. Pretty thin. While he played he had very personal photos of his life projected up behind him. It was a musical trip back in time when this ponderous electronica was ground breaking. Some things just don't hold up. This may or may not be one of those things. I would have taken pics but there were MANY signs saying not to do so, and the pony-tailed twig-eating ushers who were so polite looked like they might fuki-slam me with their 4th degree black belt cage-fighter moves; those twitchy hyphenated bastards. Maybe I will inherit the earth. When we get back home, there is that meowing again, and more urgent. We go poking around and here I am rolling my eyes cause with Tam last time this happened I was having to catch a baby crow in my jacket and throw it into a tree with 3 hungry cats circling and agitated parent crows wanting to pince my eyes out. So we go looking for the meows, and I am expecting to see a half runover cat or worse. A few circles and we look up 25 ft and the cat is stuck on the power line. I laughed, the meows were mostly from the indignity. The owner we met a bit later. The city came out with a ladder too short some hours ago. He is still up there, but has worked his way back to the pole as I type this. A hose would do it, but there is the matter of the current... not sure how that works. Its pretty windy and cold, and maybe more rain too. Will keep you posted on the outcome. Photos below. -eh
