Sunday Lunch
Just a 50 minute drive from our place to the trailhead and then a hike to the top of a peak called Bandera. This photo is from last year when we were going to hike the peak, but Emerich was feeling a bit dodgy so we just contoured around to a nearby lake and contemplated the upcoming winter. This spot is where you decide to either hump up to the top, or turn for the lake. This time our summit hike took us right past those trees with the first snow on them, only this year the weather was sunny and warm.
This photo is right below the peak, as the summit has a stand of trees that blocks the views. We could see Rainier, Adams, Baker, the Olympics, and Seattle, which is in the below photo way off in the distance as you follow I-90, though you can't quite make it out in the photo. Those are the Olympics in the way back, kinda floating above the haze.
This steep field is sort of similar to one on Sauk that some of us did with Forrest. This is the section right below the snowy trees, just looking down.
