So first thing we were suprised to see kids as young as 5 taking the subway and walking themselves to school. Japan is that safe, one thing we really loved. It is a right of passage for kids to walk to kindergarten by themselves on their first day of school. Parents teach them the way before school starts, then its "Don't let the door hit you on the way out!" on the first day. From then on its years of drudgery for the kids and sake and soap operas for the parents. Nice deal.






The double image is big in Japan. Even in the mags they will run identical ads side by side.
