Downsizing, Japan style

Being illiterate and all, we were very excited to figure out, on our own, how to get food at this semi-automated noodle joint, which looked good since there were locals slurping down there. So first you take a picture of what you want from the window display and keep the image on the screen,

then match the price and characters on the vending machine, then drop in your coins and get your ticket


and take it to the counter, nod and say "hai" during all the yelling and talking in your direction, then get your bowl when they look right at you and yell again


MMMMM... nooooodles. Don't worry about the out of work cashier, you can get a 'massage' from her across the street.
